Our Surf STORY
CARI Surf Bali was founded by two friends who have the desire to share their experiences and surf knowledge with like-minded people from all over the world.

Our Surf Camp Team
For the last 10 years, Dave and Greg lived, worked and surfed in multiple countries across the globe, growing their knowledge about surfing, surf coaching and the industry. Bali has been a favorite surf destination for many years and has been their home since 2016. Over the years of working with the best surf camps and surf schools worldwide, it was time for them to bring their vision to life. Their own Surf Camp in Bali.
Dave
Co-founder · Surf Coach
Dave has surfed, coached and worked in hospitality across Australia, Europe, Morocco and Southeast Asia. He creates the warm, welcoming experience that brings guests back to CARI.
Greg
Co-founder · Head Surf Coach
Greg has taught surfing around the world since 2013, from the Canary Islands and Morocco to Mexico, Sri Lanka and Guatemala. In Bali, he trains local coaches and helps every student understand the learning process.
Yudhis
Surf Instructor · Kuta Reef
Born in Bali, Yudhis has been riding waves since childhood. His home break is Kuta Reef, and his warm, playful energy makes him a natural surf buddy for every guest.
AL
Surf Instructor · Lakey Peak
Born in Dompu, NTB, AL brings a love of surfing and singing to every lesson. His favorite break is Lakey Peak, and he combines contest experience with an entertainer’s energy.
Bukit
Surf Instructor · The Bukit
Bali born and raised in Jimbaran, Bukit knows the waves of Keramas, Canggu and the Bukit. A genuine wave enthusiast inspired by Kelly Slater.
Finda
Surf Instructor · Uluwatu & Lakey Peak
From West Nusa Tenggara, Finda brings humor and passion to every lesson. He loves Uluwatu and Lakey Peak, and dreams of riding Snapper Rocks in Australia.
Our Surf Philosophy
The Covid-19 pandemic offered an opportunity to reset and start a new adventure. Shortly after it started, on a surf trip to Lombok, the two decided to team up and bring their vision to life.
“We want to provide professional quality surf “EDUCATION”, not just coaching.”
The surf camp industry has gone from tiny to massive in recent years and sadly from quality to quantity in many cases. We focus on small groups and individual coaching.
Understanding and mastering the fundamentals is what will improve your surfing skills the most. Not only technique; but also knowledge about the waves, tides and surf etiquette are fundamentally important.
Combine this with specific surf strength training and you will get the best possible results during your surf trip.
Every guest, team member and friend is a part of this refreshing new community that goes beyond Bali.
