There’s something that happens when people come together with the same intention.

At CARI Surf Camp, strangers share early coffees before dawn. They cheer for each other’s first green wave. They talk about wipeouts like small victories.

Some arrive having never stood on a board before ready to learn how to surf in Bali. Others are working on turns and timing to improve their surf skills.

What they share is the willingness to learn — and the respect to let others do the same.

Progress feels better when it’s shared!

Is Cari Surf Camp the right fit for me?

CARI is for you if you:

  • Want to learn surfing in an environment that feels supportive, not intimidating
  • Enjoy being around people who are curious and open
  • Appreciate structure — but still value genuine connection

CARI is not for you if you:

  • Are looking for a party-first surf trip
  • Prefer chaotic energy over steady progression
  • Want to stay in an overcrowded surf camp where no one knows your name

Morning

Coffee. Salt air. first paddle out.

The day begins early at our surf camp in Uluwatu. Boards get waxed, coffee cups appear and the ocean sets the tone for the hours ahead.

The first surf session starts with the best morning conditions. Beginner groups start with clear instruction and ocean awareness. Intermediate and advanced surfers head straight for the lineup.

The goal is simple: start the day focused and ready to learn.

Surf Sessions

Time in the water.

The sessions are built around conditions and individual levels. Beginner surf lessons stay close to shore while intermediate and advanced groups move to the best break of the day.

Coaches guide, observe and give feedback between waves — helping you understand what actually improves your surfing.

Most days include two surf sessions. The first in the morning, the second later in the day when conditions allow. On special days, the schedule shifts entirely — with full-day surf trips to reach the best waves along the Bukit coast.

No rush. No chaos. Just steady progression in real ocean conditions.

Afternoon

Recovery and space to slow down.

After the morning surf, the pace naturally softens. Lunch, shade and time to rest become part of the rhythm.

Some guests review footage with their coaches. Others explore Uluwatu’s cafés, beaches or simply recharge before the second session.

Recovery is part of progression.

Evening

Stories, food and quiet sunsets.

After the afternoon surf, evenings settle into a relaxed flow. Dinners, BBQs, conversations about the day’s waves and progression made and plans for tomorrow.

Some nights end with sunset views over the cliffs. Others with early sleep before the next dawn patrol.

The routine is simple: surf, recover, repeat.

Whats Around

Uluwatu is more than waves.
Cliffside sunsets. Small cafés tucked between limestone roads. Quiet beaches in the morning. Lively dinners at night.

While surf sessions set the rhythm of the day, there’s space for everything around it — yoga studios, good coffee, beach walks, local warungs, sunset viewpoints and slow afternoons by the pool.

You can spend your day in the water.
Or exploring.
Or simply doing nothing at all.

Markets & Local Shops

Small roadside markets and local shops are part of daily life here. Fresh fruit, handmade goods and simple warungs make wandering the Bukit feel authentic and easy.
